Fox in Socks Day!

As our Suess-tastical celebration continues, today was Fox in Socks Day.

We read Fox in Socks as a class and then tried to say some of the crazy tongue twisters in it together. It made our lips feel all tingly and tied up! This is by far one of the most tricky Seuss books out there. I can barely keep up with all the tongue twisters!

After reading, we pointed out all of the rhymes that we heard in the story. One thing we have learned as we have read different Dr. Seuss books is that Dr. Seuss loved to rhyme! In fact, every book we have read has had rhyming words in it !
We also learned that Dr. Seuss liked to make up silly animals and silly words. This story is no exception to this rule! Sneedle Beedles? Noodle Poodles? Three Cheese Trees? Crazy fun!
Then we did a little rhyming game of our own. I started our circle with a word and the children passed around a ball, taking turns rhyming with my word. Whoever couldn't come up with one got to pick the next word. I was amazed at all of the rhymes we could come up with!

We also had a crazy sock day today to commemorate this fun book. The kids have awesome socks and enjoyed getting to hang out in sock feet in class all day!
